Every year I prepare this delicious pasta with scallions with onion and garlic, from the scallops that remain after we get tired of their taste.
It is delicious, especially served with toast and red onions!
It can also be included among the appetizers of a festive meal, served in various forms.
- 300 gr jumari
- 1 red onion
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons classic mustard
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard with seeds
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

RECIPE PREPARATION Appetizer for scallops with onion and garlic:
We clean the onion and chop it finely, and we put the garlic on the grater. Using the blender, you can put it whole, but I prefer it from scratch on the start. We put in the blender vat first the two types of mustard then the garlic, the onion and the scallops. Add the spices and turn the blender to low. Starting it at a low level, the ingredients will not be thrown on the walls of the pot but will be crushed at the base. As they begin to shrink, so do the gears. We will obtain a paste of scallops with onion and homogeneous garlic, which we will transfer to a glass jar with airtight closure and we will keep it in the fridge for a long time. If we have the jars as small as possible, we can put the jumari paste in them, and we put a little oil on top, to create that anti-mold barrier. That is if we prepare a larger quantity and we want to keep it for a few months. It doesn't matter with us, it is consumed quickly for breakfast, with toast and a cup of tea. But I also use this paste for various doughs. I hope it will be useful!
It is important that the scallops are not stuffed with a lot of meat, but not very fat either!
